How do I make sure my name or personalized lettering will be correct? How do I tell you what to put on the sign?
There are three options.
- Once you complete your order, somebody from The Stout Shop will send you an email asking for your "personalized text". Once we have that information, we'll complete the work order and begin the manufacturing process. If the apostrophy s ('s or s') doesn't look right, we'll send a follow up email just to make sure.
- You can send us an email at TheStoutShop@Gmail.com. We'll be able to answer your questions and straighten out any concerns.
- You can also call 360-358-5111. Chances are you'll get a voice mail. Sorry, but we'll return your call.
Important Note Concerning Punctuation:
One of the mistakes people make is an incorrect Apostorphe in their name. This is especially confusing when the name ends in an 's'. Most names are usually personalized in the singular possessive with an 'apostrophe-s' at the end:
Mark's
Smith's
Chris's
Jones's
Many of our signs add 'The' in front of the name to indicate a family name. These should be plural possessive and use an s-apostrophe at the end:
The Smiths'
The Joneses'
When placing an order for a personalized sign, please notice whether the sign has a 'The' preceding the name. 'The' determines whether your personalization will be singular or plural.
Internet Security and my Credit Card? How do I know I can Trust The Stout Shop?
The Stout Shop was created by Mike Stout, an Internet Transport Engineer. Internet security and stability are a critical concern for the Stout Shop. I've witnessed several denial of service attacks and security breaches. I know large companies - State and Federal Governments - and even banks can be hacked. (become victoms of internet theaft).
I know how much internet security costs. I've seen and taken part in the enormous effort required to secure an ISP from the hackers. I know it can be done; and done well. Amazon's network engineering and security teams are among the finest in the world.
Amazon provides internet security for the Stout Shop.
Amazon handles customer financial transactions.
Amazon handles financial transactions for returns.
Amazon user accounts are valid on The Stout Shop. So I don't have to store and protect sensitive customer data.
Amazon handles all of the security.
What shipping options are available? How do I know the status of my shipment?
Some of our products are stored at Amazon. Once the order is complete, Amazon packs the item and ships it automatically. You'll notice the Amazon Prime Logo on these items.
We keep some of the most popular items in stock locally. They are usually shipped within 24 hours via UPS ground.
Once your order is complete, I'll send you an email to verify your shipping address. There's no need to respond if your address is correct.
Most of our signs are manufactured when your order is completed. It takes the factory 5 - 10 days to complete the project. We use UPS ground for product shipping. You can upgrade the shipping service at checkout. Once the sign is completed it will ship. Once that happens, I'll forward the shipping information to you via email. The email will contain tracking information.
Once your sign ships, we will send another email with the UPS tracking information.
Which credit cards can i use at The Stout Shop?
Amazon.com services our checkout system. You can use any card supported by Amazon. The following are supported as of April 2012. Visa, Discover, Mastercard, Diner's Club, American Express, JCB. We'll accept PayPal with prior approval.
What is your return policy?
I've heard numerous compliments concerning our signs. I think the construction is finer than anything I or most other people can make. But, if you decide you don't like the product, or if you're unhappy with the quality, You can return the sign and refund your payment and shipping charges. I'll provide you with the necesary free shipping documents. I'll take returns for up to 90 Days. That should cover early gift purchases.
Our Dartboards are world class sisal fiber / Bristleboard dartboards. If you're unhappy with the board, you can return the sign and refund your payment and shipping charges. I'll provide you with the necesary free shipping documents.
What are your signs made of?
All of our signs are made of REAL hardwood composites. Our entire line is meticulously handcrafted in Charleston, SC USA. Some product images demonstrate the production process.
What are your Dartboards Made of?
Sisal Fiber - Bristleboard.
What other important info should I know about the signs and personalization?
Our Wood Signs are based upon late 19th century designs when use of text oriented pub and trade signs were at their height. Click here to read more about our manufacturing process.
All of the signs come ready to hang with all hardware included or a keyhole hanger on the back for easy door or wall mounting, and with the exception of the garden signs are intended for interior use only.
There are no character limits on our personalized items. We will make the copy fit. Personalization spelling (if any) will appear exactly as stated on your purchase order. We do not automatically add punctuation and assume spelling is correct so please be sure that the way you spell and punctuate your personalization on your purchase order is how you want it to appear on the sign.
